We offer a variety of services based on our deep skill set in photography and visual marketing.
- Commercial Photography
We average 50 projects a year since 1989. Most projects have a photography component. The projects include: head and shoulders portraits of executives, architectural interiors & exteriors, studio product photography and fine art reproduction. - Web & Graphic Design
Our work often requires graphic design. We design everything from business cards and logos to complete catalogs for print. We also have a tried and true process for designing and building websites. We have redesigned many clients websites with great success. - Video Production
We have the equipment and skills to handle most video production assignments. We often collaborate with other video production companies on larger assignments. Michael is an audiophile and is very skilled at recording dialog and music. - Post Production
One of our biggest strengths and advantages is our editing skill set. We build our own powerful workstations for running Photoshop, Lightroom, Premier, Audition and many other applications. We are cutting edge in the use of AI Programs for photography and video editing. - Consulting & Training
Michael does a considerable amount of consulting and photography training. He consults for studios, galleries and companies that have specific imaging needs. He also lectures to professional photography groups and clubs. - Branding & Visual Marketing
Our services are predominantly visual, but we do know how to skillfully craft a message that includes words. We have created names, taglines and marketing copy for numerous projects.
Michael Stewart’s Resume
Michael Stewart is a visual marketing expert with more than 20 years of experience. He operates Studio 76 in Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington DC. His team creates photography, video and visual design for commercial clients.
Technical skill and a sharp eye for creating artistic work are the bases of his studio’s success. Michael’s industrious nature and pioneering spirit has allowed him to achieve a place at the vanguard of professional photography & visual creation. He shoots assignments, consults, and teaches photography.

Stewart Photographic Services: January 1989-Present
Stewart Photography was established in 1989. The firm has changed its name to Stewart Image and now offers visual marketing services for screen and print including: Photography, Video Production, and e-Media. - Photography Book Tech Editor
O’Reilly Media: May 2004 – April 2009 (5 years)
Michael worked with, author, Peter Krogh to develop theories on digital asset management and presented them in two groundbreaking books: The DAM Book and The DAM Book 2.0.

UPDIG (Universal Photographic Digital Imaging Guidelines): Sept 2006 – Sept 2008 (2 years)
Michael managed a high profile project funded by a Library of Congress grant and supported by all the major imaging associations. He tech edited the material, structured the information architecture, and managed web as well as print design. - Photographers Professional Group Chapter President
ASMP-DC (American Society of Picture Professionals) January 1999 – January 2003 (4 years)
Michael served on the ASMP-DC Board of Directors for four years, including one as President and one as Co-President. He helped produce 10 educational and inspirational programs for professional photographers each year. Topics included:
photography business, digital imaging, and marketing for photographers. - Photography Professor
Shepherd University, Northern VA Community College: September 1996 – September 2000 (4 years)
Michael Taught: Studio Lighting, Digital Image Capture, and Business of Photography. He developed curriculum for a
Photography Bachelor program. He also ran the schools E-6 film lab while providing hardware and software support for the digital imaging lab. - Photography Studio Manager
David Sharpe Studio: 1991 – 1994 (3 years)
Michael provided support to four photographers at a large and busy commercial studio. He worked on catalogs, fashion, cars, jewelry, lifestyle, and editorial projects. He also maintained photographic equipment, an e-6 film lab, and a B&W darkroom. Conceptual Photographic Services 1988 – 1991 (3 years)
Michael worked with the best and brightest photographers around the country for advertisement and editorial stories in magazines such as: Architectural Digest, USA today, Better Homes and Gardens, The Washington Post, GQ, Men’s Health, Business Week, National Geographic, Southern Living, Time, Food and Wine, and Discover.
Education
NVCC 1997 Associates in Applied Science with a major in Photography and a specialization in Studio Photography.
Michael’s true education comes from attending numerous imaging workshops and collaborating with expert colleagues.
